Insular Life, the country’s largest Filipino-owned mutual life insurer, was recently recognized by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) with 4-Golden Arrows for its good corporate governance practices, based on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS).

“Thank you for recognizing Insular Life with the 4-Golden Arrow award. This is a concrete recognition of our continued success in our journey to achieving excellence in corporate governance,” said Executive Chairman Nina D. Aguas.

At the recent ICD’s 2019 ACGS awarding ceremony held online, Ms. Aguas said that as a mutual life insurance company, InLife takes good corporate governance seriously because it is primarily accountable to its policyholders.

“It takes serious commitment, discipline and consistent action among our leaders, starting with our Board of Trustees, the Governance Committee, senior management, and key officers as the principal drivers in this journey. They lead the way to shaping and reinforcing a culture of good corporate governance, and they set good examples for the rest of the InLifers. The tone is set from the top,” she said.

This is the 3rd consecutive year where InLife’s Corporate Governance was recognized by the ICD.

In 2017 and 2018, the company earned 3-Golden Arrows Award (out of 5). And for the 2019 ACGS Golden Arrow Awards, InLife earned the coveted 4-Golden Arrows as the company tries to breach top mark on a par with the world’s best Corporate Governance practices.
