Insular Life announces executive promotions and appointment of new RTDD Head
Insular Life Chief Executive Officer Nina D. Aguas recently announced the promotion of the following senior officers: Atty. Renato S. de Jesus and Maria Teresa L. Cruz to senior vice president; and Vera Victoria C. Morales, Mylene C. Padilla, and Katerina V. Suarez to first vice president.
Atty. De Jesus is the Company’s Chief Legal and Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary. He has been heading the Legal Corporate and Services Division of the Company since 1996. As such Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, he is in charge of the overall management of the legal and compliance affairs of Insular Life and its subsidiaries. He graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, where he also obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree.
Cruz heads the Company’s Information Services Division (ISD), a position she has been occupying ever since she joined Insular Life in 1997. ISD is the unit that supervises and implements the information technology programs of the Company, which include technology planning, systems development, technical support, networks, telecommunication, data center management, and information center activities. She graduated with a degree in BS in Mathematics from the University of the Philippines, Diliman. She is the treasurer of the IT Interaction Philippines.
Morales heads the Company’s Investment Management Division (IMD). She joined Insular Life in 1986, has been the deputy head of IMD since 2006, and its head since 2016. Her Division manages the Company’s traditional & variable investment portfolios and is likewise actively involved in the development of the Company’s investment-linked products. She graduated with a degree in Liberal Arts major in Psychology and BS in Commerce major in Accounting from the De La Salle University (DLSU). She also completed the Management Development Program of the Asian Institute of Management, and attended a Risk Management Course given by The Foundation for the Advancement of Life & Insurance Around the World (FALIA) in Japan. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has earned the Associate, Life Management Institute (ALMI), with honors designation, given by the Life Office Management Association (LOMA).
Padilla is the Company’s corporate treasurer and head of its Finance Division. She joined Insular Life in 1987 and has been heading the Division since 1997. Her Division manages all the Company’s financial transactions, with regard to agency compensation administration, cash management, control and analysis, financial assets and general accounting. She is a member of the Finance and Investment Committee of the Philippine Life Insurance Association. She graduated with a degree in AB major in Psychology and BS in Accountancy from DLSU. She is a CPA.
Suarez heads the Company’s Actuarial Division. She joined Insular Life in 2009, and has been heading the Division since 2015. Her Division handles the technical aspects of life insurance operations, including product development, valuation, and dividend distribution. She graduated with a degree in BS in Applied Mathematics, cum laude, from DLSU. She is a Fellow, and this year’s president of the Actuarial Society of the Philippines, and has earned the Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) designation given by LOMA.
Meanwhile, Insular Life also welcomes its new Recruitment, Training and Development Department Head, Assistant Vice President Maria Ritchie M. Reyes. Reyes has extensive work experience in training, agency development, people, and field sales management in the life insurance industry. Prior to joining Insular Life, she was the associate agency director of another life insurance company. She graduated from the Lyceum of the Philippines with a degree in BS in Foreign Service, major in Diplomacy.
