Insular Foundation feats six Magna Cum Laude Graduates
The Insular Foundation recognized its seven Gold Eagle Scholars who recently graduated from the University of the Philippines - Diliman, six of whom finished with magna cum laude honors.
The Insular Foundation Board of Trustees congratulated the scholars and their parents during an appreciation lunch at the Circles Event Place in Makati Shangri-la, Manila. Each scholar was awarded with a Certification of Recognition and P10,000 as bonus for graduating magna cum laude.
The scholars who graduated with degrees in education are: James Peter Z. Arellano, Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSE) major in Biology; Kathryn Mae D. Deveza, BSE major in Special Education minor in Mathematics, magna cum laude; Abigail B. Gonzales, Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) major in Mathematics, magna cum laude; Maria Celine Alexis M. Isidro, BEEd major in Special Education, magna cum laude; Karl Anthony J. Mejia, BSE major in Special Education minor in Physical Education, magna cum laude; Joyce Anne P. Narciso, BSE major in Social Studies, magna cum laude and Krizia Camille C. Salvador, BEEd major in Special Education, magna cum laude.
The Insular Foundation currently supports 39 Gold Eagle Scholars, both Education and Mathematics majors at the University of the Philippines, Diliman. Every year, the College Scholarship Grant offers 10 slots for the Bachelor of Secondary or Elementary Education course and two slots for the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics course. After graduation, the Education scholars are required to work as teachers in any school in the Philippines for at least two years. The scholarship benefits include full tuition and miscellaneous fees, monthly stipend, transportation and book allowance, provided they meet the scholarship requirements.
