MANILA, Philippines  -- On May 26, 2019, YouTube kicked off its annual FanFest at the SM Mall Of Asia Arena. FanFest brings you YouTube's biggest and brightest stars from the computer screens to the international live stages, a cause which celebrates our freedom to be heard, express ourselves, and be informed. YouTube FanFest is more than just a community; it has become a culture and has shaped the way we engage with the digital landscape.

Last Saturday’s event was no different from the previous years of exciting forums, performance, and meet and greets, except for the very special edition of bringing to the stage a powerhouse of women leaders who have made waves in their respective industries while raising the bar high for audiences everywhere.

Gracing the stage were Nanette Medved-Po; an award-winning film actress, TV host, model, and the founder of Generation Hope Inc. and Friends of Hope Inc., which produces both company branded and co-branded consumer goods, Therese Fernandez, Founder and CEO of Rags2Riches, a design house which empowers local artisans and champions sustainable crafts and fashion, Lyqa Maravilla of Team Lyqa, an ambassador for the youth and education system who claims to fame was bagging the top spot - Professional Level Top 1 - in the Civil Service Exam back in 2013, Dorothy Dee-Ching, Unilever’s Vice President for beauty and personal care, and our very own Noemi Azura, President and CEO of Insular Health Care and Program Director for InLife Sheroes, a movement that champions health and wellness, connections to social and business networks, women-specific solutions and financial literacy.

The latter two content pillars are featured on Digiskarteng Pinay, a YouTube channel dedicated to educating and empowering Filipino women by offering them informative videos that touch on family nutrition, financial literacy, beauty, fashion, health and wellness, and coding and technical skills.

The leading ladies were quick to share their fire with the crowd, inciting excitement and a renewed appreciation for the crafts they do so well.
