| Making Money without the Risk of Losing |

Only a fool would say that "I can make money, without losing a cent."
As the stock market climate has not been very friendly lately, many of the investors are becoming risk-averse. A lot are seeking refuge on low risk but low return financial instruments. Even first time investors are afraid to test the waters and will wait until the market gets bullish before they take the plunge. Truly, global and local economic concerns have given investors a rough patch on their investments.
Given the financial pressures in the market today, can one still make money without the risk of losing?
Insular Life, the first and largest Filipino life insurance company, launches Dollar Wealth Advantage - an investment-linked insurance product that will provide Filipinos a secured way of investing while providing the potential for high returns.
Dollar Wealth Advantage eliminates the risk usually associated with playing the stock markets, especially for those risk-averse investors seeking options to improve returns from their hard-earned savings. This 8-year term product, if held until maturity, offers capital protection plus a minimum return or the return linked to a participation in the performance of developed equity markets, whichever is higher. On top of that, one is covered with insurance benefits amounting to 125% of the investment, an added financial security that only an insurance product can provide.
Make money without the risk of losing! Catch Dollar Wealth Advantage's limited subscription offering until October 3, 2008. The Insular Life Assurance Co., Ltd. marked a new milestone with the recent groundbreaking of the Insular Life Cebu Business Centre.
Located at the thriving Cebu Business Park, the Insular Life Cebu Business Centre is a 12-storey corporate hub designed by top architectural firm, J.T. Mañosa & Associates.
In his welcome message during the groundbreaking ceremony, Insular Life Chairman of the Board and CEO Vicente R. Ayllón remarked that the building “represents (the Company’s) vote of confidence in the progress of the Philippine economy, and more importantly, our faith in the Filipino’s wealth of talents.” Present during the groundbreaking ceremonies were Insurance Commissioner Eduardo T. Malinis, Monsignor Achilles D. Dakay of the Archdiocese of Cebu, Cebu 1st District Representative Raul V. Del Mar, and Cebu Vice Mayor Michael L. Rama.
The Insular Life Cebu Business Centre will have a gross area of 19,500 sq. m. with an efficiency of 86% net space. A unique feature of the building is the minimal use of interior columns to maximize the use of space and allow flexibility for the needs of end users.
The building, likewise, will promote green architecture with its terraced greenery, landscaped gardens and water features. The terraced gardens, aside from contributing to the greening of the exterior of the building, will house the air condition condensing units on every third floor. Floor-to-floor height is estimated at 3.86 meters to maximize natural light and contribute to energy consumption. Meanwhile, the entire roof deck will feature two gardens and a restaurant, where visitors will be treated to an excellent view of the Cebu cityscape.
With an estimated 230 persons per floor, the building will have six elevators, one for the exclusive use of executives and another for service and freight. It will house two basement levels that will offer 160 parking spaces, a drivers’ lounge, sanitary rooms, a storage area, utility equipment, fire/ water pumps and an emergency power generator.
The Insular Life Cebu Business Centre is slated to be inaugurated in 2010, in time for Insular Life’s 100th anniversary celebration. |

Thirty three educators and volunteers from Muntinlupa Itaas Elementary School (MIES), Tuloy sa Don Bosco and Insular Life participated in the recently held Adarna Storytelling Workshop. The workshop, conducted by Adarna storyteller Jay Menes, discussed basic storytelling techniques such as voice, facial expression and body movement. The participants were also coached in the actual storytelling process, from introducing the story to ending the storytelling session.
This is the second year that Insular Life hosted an Adarna storytelling workshop. Through the workshop and the participants, Insular Life aims to awaken children’s interest in storybooks, and consequently, make reading into their life-long habit. Photo above shows Jay Menes demonstrating the importance of facial expressions in characterization.
