Insular Life’s centennial coffee table book and 2011 calendars scored a second win as the Public Relations Society of the Philippines recognized the two materials in the recent 47th Anvil Awards ceremonies held at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel.

1910-2010: The Century Past, A Century Forward, Insular Life’s centennial coffee table, received an Anvil Award of Excellence under the PR Tools category. Penned by Joan Orendain and designed by Felix Mago Miguel, the book chronicled the hundred years of Insular Life, juxtaposed against the history of the Philippines.
Meanwhile, Planned Spaces, Human Places: Living Architecture of the Filipinos, Insular’s 2011 calendars set, was likewise conferred an Anvil Award of Excellence under the PR Tools category. The calendar set featured a snap shot of the Philippine’s best contemporary architectural works. These include projects such as the San Miguel Corporate Head Office, the residence of National Artist Architect Francisco Mañosa, the BenCab Museum, and the U.P. Church of the Holy Sacrifice. The materials were designed by Kestrel DDM with photos by Toy Magtaas and Bobot Meru.
The Anvil Awards, a program of the Pubic Relations Society of the Philippines PRSP), is deemed as the “Oscars†of the local public relations industry as it recognizes the best PR programs and tools in the country.

Earlier, the two materials also won in the 10th Philippine Quill Awards given by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)-Philippines. The coffee table book received the Top Award in the Philippine Quill Communication Skills Division, and an Award of Excellence in the Publications category. The calendars, on the other hand, received a Merit award under the Publication Design category.
