Insular Life launches US Dollar denominated product
(Date Posted: January 25, 2012)

In January, Insular Life welcomed the year of the Water Dragon with its latest US Dollar-denominated product, Dollar Variable Returns Asset (Dollar VRA).

The Dollar VRA is a single premium investment-linked life insurance product that can optimize one’s dollar returns. With no initial charges, the funds can grow to its full potential from the onset.

The Dollar VRA taps into dollar denominated fixed income instruments issued by the Philippine government and prime corporations through the Dollar Fixed Income Fund. Four years ago, returns have been recorded at approximately 33%, earning for the investor roughly 6.16% p.a. “We are giving the market an alternative vehicle to put their dollar assets in, a vehicle that can potentially earn for them better yields than what their dollars may be currently experiencing,” says Insular Life Chairman of the Board and CEO Vicente R. Ayllon.

The Dollar VRA also provides life insurance protection equal to the minimum death benefit or the fund value, whichever is higher. Protection from the risk of economic loss is a benefit no other investment vehicle can give.

The Dollar VRA is available for a minimum single premium of US$10,000.00 and shall be issued on a Guaranteed Issue Offer (GIO) basis subject to company limits. The policyholder has the freedom to grow his investments through a minimum of US$6,000 top-ups.
